“My Tailor is an essay that brings into light the greatness
of humanity. We are failing in prey to peculiar traditions and culture. We see
the rank of distinction in the social status and position of man. We keep aside
the human being and pay respect to roles, though we are born with equally recognition.
The same irony of fate has been shown in the essay “My Tailor”
The writer has been in close contacts with his tailor for
many years, but he couldn’t see a man wrapped in him He merely has considered
him the part of the shop. Whenever the writer went to his shop he found him in
the back portion of the shop, He considered him a machine devoid of human
feelings.
They had a small talk about their business, Then the writer came
back. He always measured the writer round his chest and made his assistant add
half an inch. They talked about weather and many trivial thing and the writer
would come back. The Tailor also exaggerated the writer and pleased him.
Through he was a smiling man, nobody saw him microscopically. He was internally
a broken man having a wife and daughter, now the time was out of joint. The
writer recognized him but it was too late. He became immortal and worked as a
lighthouse for the writer.
